Strong governance is the key to accountable, transparent, and sustainable organizations. Hear insights from experienced community leaders Andriy Maleckyj, Ann (Hania) Szyptur, and Anna Kuprieieva as they share practical tools for leadership, succession planning, and ensuring long-term organizational success. This session will emphasize how effective governance strengthens trust, continuity, and impact across our community.

In today’s information environment, disinformation threatens democracy and community trust. Join international experts Anatoliy Grudz, Justin Ling, Philip Mai, and Alexandra Pavliuc as they explore how to recognize and respond to false narratives, strengthen media literacy, and build resilience against hostile influence campaigns. The discussion will highlight tools and strategies for protecting our community against manipulation both online and offline.

Community spaces are at the heart of how we gather, collaborate, and build connections. Hear from knowledgeable leaders Slawko Borys, Bruce Lilly, Olya Vovnysh, and Dr. Ellen Valter as they reimagine what inclusive, accessible, and sustainable spaces look like for the Ukrainian Canadian community in the years ahead. We’ll explore how to adapt traditional institutions while creating new hubs that meet the needs of the next generation.

How can we build stronger relationships with policymakers and ensure our community’s voice is heard? Hear from the experienced voices of Tyler Shandro, Danylo Korbabicz, Denis Volkov, and Marianna Tretiak as they share strategies for engaging officials at all levels of government, strengthening advocacy, and driving meaningful change. Together, we will explore how to amplify Ukrainian Canadian priorities in today’s complex political landscape.

We are honoured to welcome General (Ret’d) Roméo Dallaire — humanitarian, advocate, and former Senator — as a keynote speaker at the Triennial Congress. Through keynote addresses, lectures, seminars, and workshops, General Dallaire shares his wisdom and experience on ethical leadership, conflict prevention, international peace and security, and the importance of mental health, especially in times of crisis.He inspires audiences with passion, humour, and strength of character.

Resolutions are a cornerstone of the Triennial Congress, providing delegates with the opportunity to debate and adopt positions that will guide the work of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress in the years ahead. This session ensures that the collective voice of our community is heard, shaping priorities and action plans on key issues affecting Ukrainians in Canada.

Learn from experts Janine Kuzma, Bohdana Bashuk, Valeriy Kostyuk, and Krystina Waler as they discuss innovative approaches to fundraising and financial sustainability that will strengthen our community for years to come. This session will highlight practical tools to diversify revenue streams and foster long-term donor relationships.

How do we ensure that Ukrainian education in Canada is sustainable for future generations? Tetiana Sunak, Chair of the National Ukrainian Education Council, will host guests for a conversation on strategies for strengthening language schools, cultural education, and youth engagement—ensuring that Ukrainian identity thrives in classrooms and beyond. Together, we will examine challenges and opportunities in preserving heritage through education.

Volunteers are the driving force of our organizations, and this session will highlight how to redefine volunteerism in today’s world. Join Olha Simoroz, Sara Lyons, Anya Shyian, and Dmytro Ivanchenko as they discuss recruiting, engaging, and supporting the people who make community initiatives possible. We will focus on building a culture of appreciation and empowerment that inspires long-term involvement.

How do we strengthen, expand, and sustain the Ukrainian Canadian community for future generations? This plenary brings together leaders and visionaries — Oksana Marchyshyn, Taras Bahriy, Olena Shyian, and Father Michael Loza — to share insights on engagement, leadership, and the evolving needs of our community. Together, they will explore practical strategies, challenges, and opportunities to ensure a vibrant and united future.
