Janine Kuzma, CFRE, is a fundraising expert leading legacy and capital campaigns, supporting health, education, and Ukrainian Canadian initiatives with strategic impact.

Speaker's bio

Janine Kuzma, CFRE, is a seasoned fundraising professional with deep expertise in the not-for-profit sector. She holds a BA from the University of Toronto and a postgraduate certificate in Fundraising Management, and has further distinguished herself by earning the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.

Janine is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP), and the International Society of Female Professionals. She also serves on the Board of Directors of an international foundation, contributing strategic insight and sector leadership.

Over the course of her career, Janine has successfully led fundraising campaigns and initiatives for a wide range of organizations, including those focused on childhood cancer, youth mental health (Jack.org), education (University of Toronto Schools), and the Ukrainian Canadian community, including Ivan Franko Homes and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.

In her current role as Senior Manager, Legacy Giving at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation of Toronto, Janine leads efforts to grow both legacy and capital campaign revenue. She works closely with Advisory Councils, a Professional Advisor Network, and community partners to build meaningful relationships that support the Foundation’s mission. She also helps donors understand the tax benefits of charitable giving, integrating their philanthropic goals with estate and financial planning strategies. Janine is passionate about the transformative power of legacy giving and takes great pride in helping individuals create meaningful and lasting legacies through gifts in their wills and other planned gifts. In addition to her full-time role, she advises not-for-profit organizations on strategic fundraising initiatives and project-based campaigns.
