Professional Background: Anna Kuprieieva is the Principal Lawyer at Solvis Law in Ottawa, where she brings extensive experience in business and corporate law. She provides “external general counsel” support to clients across the corporate lifecycle, advising on structuring, corporate governance, and day-to-day commercial matters. Her practice also extends to international trade and investment, as well as immigration law, including representation before the Federal Court. With a proven track record in corporate structuring, compliance, and governance best practices, Anna combines strategic insight with cross-border expertise to deliver practical, client-focused solutions to complex legal challenges.
Anna began her legal career in Ukraine, where she was called to the Bar in 2008 and served as in-house counsel for a leading energy and oil & gas group. After relocating to Canada, she deepened her training in the common law system by completing a two-year master’s program at the University of Ottawa. During this time, she focused her research on in international trade and investment law and contributed to the UN Free Trade Agreement Assessment Project under the United Nations Committee on Trade and Development. She later earned a Global Professional LLM from the University of Toronto and articled with the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario.
Today, as Principal Lawyer of Solvis Law (www.solvislaw.ca), Anna leads a boutique practice dedicated to supporting businesses and non-profit organizations in strengthening governance frameworks, navigating domestic and cross-border issues, and achieving their strategic objectives.
Community Involvement: Beyond her legal practice, Anna is deeply committed to community service and professional leadership. She serves as a Board Member and Chair of the Governance Committee at the Ukrainian Canadian Bar Association (UCBA), a Steering Committee Member at the Ukrainian Canadian Foundation (CUF), and an Advisory Committee Member at Access Employment. She has also contributed as a Pro Bono Lawyer at the Ottawa’s Catholic Centre for Immigrants (CCI) and as Past President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Ontario Provincial Council. Through these roles, Anna has demonstrated a sustained dedication to strengthening community ties, promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, and expanding access to justice through mentorship and pro bono service.
