Mykhaylo Kozlovskyy

Mykhaylo Kozlovskyy is a community leader and emerging environmental professional whose work bridges public service and volunteerism. Born in Lviv, Ukraine, he immigrated to Edmonton, Alberta, in 2011 at the age of nine. He is currently a Biologist in Training with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Accounting.Mykhaylo has been a member of the Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada (CYM) since 2012.As an adult, he quickly immersed himself in leadership roles, serving as board secretary from 2021 to 2023. Since 2023, he has led CYM Edmonton as the president, modernizing its governance, expanding membership, and organizing cultural events that bring the community together. He also serves as Assistant Treasurer for both the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Edmonton Branch and the Ukrainian Canadian Benevolent Society, roles he has held since 2022. Through these positions, his work has strengthened financial transparency, fostered collaboration among organizations, and built meaningful support for Ukrainian newcomers and youth.Professionally, Mykhaylo is an Environmental Professional with the City of Edmonton, where he oversees large-scale urban forestry initiatives and environmental projects. He combines a strong analytical approach with hands-on field experience to support environmental planning, policy implementation, and sustainable urban development. Working closely with planners, public stakeholders, and community partners, he strives to enhance Edmonton’s diverse ecosystem and ensure its sustainability for generations to come.In addition to these roles, Mykhaylo serves as a member of the audit committee for the Ukrainian Youth Unity Council (UYUC) since 2023 and has been part of the League of Ukrainian Canadians (LUK) since 2024.
